I joined boot camp in April 2013. When I joined I would have been happy losing ten kilos. I lost 25 kilos in 24 weeks of boot camp training, which was 4 x 6 week sessions. My whole outlook has changed and I am feeling fitter than I have ever felt in my life. The staff at Rush Hour have been fantastic, and I can see why people come from all over Sydney to train with them. The reason I previously found it hard to exercise was because I always had my children with me but Rush Hour provided child care for my children so I could train in the women’s class. These classes enabled me to start the journey and take the time to look after me. I could no longer use the excuse that I was too busy with the children. I am now looking after myself FOR my children. The best part is that the weight has stayed off, and I am now addicted to the feeling I get from doing Rush Hour boot camp. My husband, my mum and my sister have all started boot camp as well, and are also enjoying all the health benefits. To those that are thinking if they should join, I say just give it six weeks. You have nothing to lose, but fat. I want to personally thank all the staff at Rush Hour Australia for your help along the journey. No more excuses.

Hi everyone, I started training with Rush Hour in November 2011 because my friends and work colleagues all said I was letting myself go and getting fatter. But there is more to me than that. I am a father of 4 , I work in Finance, and feel my job doesn’t give enough support towards healthy lifestyle. I wanted to write this for my blog because even without the toning up and weight loss my trainer at Rush Hour has helped me. I used to love to sleep in and waste my days away and eat myself through the stressful times. I started with Rush Hour to try and help myself overall.  Over weight isn’t what I wanted to be.

I thought I was going to die and that my trainer was on some mission to kill me after the first training session. But I was wrong. I actually got better at the running, skipping, squats and the other exercises were always different and each session became fun and for me. I had less to whinge about and (I wouldn’t tell my trainer) but looked forward to them, I was achieving something great.

Anyway, the 6 weeks flew and what I really wanted to say is that I feel and look great but for myself, my mind is in a much better place. I don’t sleep all day, I find other ways to satisfy myself other than food, ie WALK, RIDE even do a home made session with what I have been taught.  My trainer was tough but fair and we all know sometimes you need to be pushed to achieve results. I am so appreciative of what my trainer has done that I am now in my third cycle and 22 kilos lighter. I know I did it, but to have someone make such a big difference in your life and make you feel as good as I do is unreal.

Rush hour gives me something to look forward to 3 times a week, as i have made good friends which will last a life time for me.

Rush Hour not only changed my life, Rush Hour saved my life”  

As a mother of three, I kept making excuses for not working out.  “I have no time”, “my baby sleeps on a schedule”, “I need to rest when the baby sleeps”, “if I breastfeed, the weight will drop off anyway”.  I used all these excuses and more.  I didn’t want to leave the house to talk to friends so I certainly didn’t want to leave the house to exercise.  I wasn’t aware that I was suffering from post natal depression until I was medically diagnosed.  I can still remember my doctor saying “depression is like any other disease.  If left untreated, it will kill you”.  It was at that point that I made the decision to get better.  I didn’t know I was ‘sick’ but I knew I had to do something so I can be a better mother to my kids.  I contacted Rush Hour boot camp and joined the next six week session and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. 

I do the mothers class at 9.30am and the carer, our baby sitter, is by far the loveliest woman I’ve ever met.  She is so wonderful with the kids and really do care about them.  Having her watch the kids, allows me to focus on myself for the hour while I train.  I don’t have to worry about them because I know they’re in such good hands so I can exercise without any distractions and work out as hard as I can. 

My trainer suggested that for the next 6 weeks, we need to set a goal.  My goal was to lose 6kgs but in hindsight, I should have thought of something else.  When you train with Rush Hour, you WILL lose weight.  Every session is different and works out every part of your body.  Losing weight just comes with the package.  I lost 8kgs in those first 6 weeks and I know if I continue to train hard, I’ll get to my goal weight. 

Getting out of the house, being in fresh air and doing something for me, all contributed to the fact that I am no longer suffering from depression. Rush Hour not only changed my life, Rush Hour saved my life.

I’ve been training with Rush Hour Australia for a while, took a break and came back.  I’m into my second six week cycle and I have already lost a total of 16.5KG in the first six weeks. I found training hard and trying to get my fitness back was a struggle at first. But now I’m a mean machine. I’ve got my energy back and my strength and flexibility have improved dramatically. My trainer was very inspiring and supportive of reaching my goals and was determined to keep me on track and pushing me along. With the help of Rush Hour I have found a new take on life. I have a healthier lifestyle; my cholesterol and blood pressure have improved dramatically. I have a new life thanks to Rush Hour, I have found I can run around and be more active with my children and I feel that this lifestyle will allow me to be around longer for my children. I thought it was selfish to bring kids into the world while I was overweight. With my new perspective and new found passion I will be able to teach my kids and make sure they learn from my mistakes and live a healthier lifestyle. Joining Rush hour has reduced my weekly expenses including costly prescriptions, cutting down on junk food drastically and I have worked out that it is cheaper to attend a single rush hour session than it is to go out for a fast food lunch.

It’s not only about the training for me; I have inspiring and supporting boot camp friends that I will keep close in my life forever. Now all I talk about with my family is training and I’ve even encouraged my sister to join and she’s doing great. Thank you to Ray and Rush Hour Australia for my new life.

I first joined Rush Hour Australia in November 2012. After having done 12 months of other bootcamps and not seeing any results, I finally built up the courage to sign up to a cycle with Rush Hour. My biggest fear was that I was so overweight that everyone else would laugh at me or I wouldn’t be able to keep up with the classes, but I was completely mistaken. To say I nervous walking to my first session would be an understatement. I had the biggest butterflies in my stomach to the point I considered turning around and going home. Fortunately I won the battle of that little voice in my head telling me I couldn’t do this and I made my way over to introduce myself to my new trainer. The first introduction session was like no other workout I had ever done before that I began to worry what I had gotten myself into. I was out of breath within seconds and could barely lift my feet of the ground but I managed to get through it. Everyone was so encouraging and welcoming which was very comforting and kept me coming back.

It wasn’t until my second cycle with Rush Hour that I started to take bootcamp more seriously. I started believing in myself and set small goals and began seeing results. When I realised I was achieving the small goals, I would start to set myself bigger goals with weight loss being my overall objective.

Since joining Rush Hour about 18 months ago, I have lost a total of 44kg and have not looked back. The extra encouragement the trainers offer outside of bootcamp makes all the difference. To have someone who cares for their clients and makes themselves available for any questions really helped keep me motivated and on track with my eating and fitness goals.

One of my life long dreams has been to paraglide in the Swiss Alps, but like everything on my to do list this has a weight limit of 110kg.18 months ago I was 21kg over that weight limit and I am proud to say I am now 23kg under it, however I could not have done this without the help, dedication and encouragement from my trainer Taner, Ray and the team at Rush Hour Australia.

I have just returned from my paragliding adventures in both Switzerland and Turkey. I cannot begin to describe the feeling of success and the joy of my achievement as I never thought I would actually get there. It was all worth the early morning rises, bootcamp in the rain and all the blood sweat and tears as they say. I can’t thank you guys enough for this new life you have helped me create. I still can’t wipe the smile off my face that I finally accomplished a lifelong dream.

I have not yet reached my weight loss goal but am almost there and I look forward to achieving more goals and dreams with Rush Hour Australia.
